Application process open for Greater Cincinnati African American Scholarship Fund

November 2, 2023

CINCINNATI, OH — GE Aerospace announced today that the application process is open for scholarships through the Greater Cincinnati African American Scholarship Fund (GCAASF). These scholarships are for high school seniors in the Greater Cincinnati Area. Up to ten scholarships ranging from $2,000 to $10,000 will be awarded for the 2024-2025 academic year.

In 2002, GE’s African American Forum (AAF) partnered with businesses throughout Greater Cincinnati to form the GCAASF, administered by Greater Cincinnati Foundation. Between 2002 and 2014, the fund provided scholarships to more than 230 local students who attended 83 different universities.

GE Aerospace relaunched the program in 2021, awarding $110,000 in scholarships to 16 local students over the last two academic years.

“It’s an honor to support these students as they pursue college degrees,” said Tony Mathis, President and CEO of Edison Works at GE Aerospace. “GE has a long history providing college scholarships and career opportunities to students of diverse backgrounds. We’re confident these scholarships will be a tremendous help to students as they pursue their college degrees.”
