Year-End Update from the Executive Director
The Women’s Fund entered 2023 with a renewed mission: to advance gender and racial equity for women by addressing systemic barriers to upward mobility. This year has been marked by our unwavering commitment to systems change, recognizing the need to address the root causes of inequity and to champion transformative solutions.
The vision we share with each of you is clear – we are designing a community where all women can participate, prosper, and reach their full potential. This vision pushes us forward, inspiring us to tackle the complex issues that hinder the progress of women in our community. Thank you to our donors and supporters for fueling this work!
In partnership with changemakers like you, the Women’s Fund provides solutions that are changing the systems in which we live, work, and play.
Through the Employer Toolkit, which impacts over 500,000 employees across the country, workplaces are becoming more equitable. Through research and advocacy, the needle is moving on issues that impact women’s self-sufficiency and economic mobility including affordable childcare, pay equity, and access to reproductive healthcare. More women are learning how they can represent and serve their communities on civic boards and commissions through our Appointed Civic Leadership Academy, moving the region closer to gender parity.
As we celebrate the accomplishments of the past year, we look ahead with anticipation and determination and gratitude. Thank you to each of you who have donated, volunteered, partnered, and advocated with the Women’s Fund in 2023. This vision would not have a chance to become reality without the generous support of our community, partners, and champions for gender equity.
And there is more work to be done. There is still time to make a 2023 gift to the Women’s Fund, and exciting opportunities to invest in gender and racial equity in 2024. Here’s to a new year filled with progress, equity, and vibrancy for all. Together, we will work towards a future where every woman can thrive.
Onward,
Alicia Miller
